Raw Silk Pocket Square in Basalt
Towers of perfectly hexagonal rock formations stacked on top of each other can be found throughout the coasts of Iceland. These seemingly alien structures, known as Basalt Columns, are formed from the slow cooling of basalt lava, causing the minerals to contract and form cracks in almost perfect hexagons.
Parallel stokes of black, carefully hand painted on a natural raw silk create a pattern inspired by the columnar basalt found along the coast of Iceland.
