Japanese Silk Scarf in Hand-Dyed Indigo Pine
Sorry, currently out of stock
This scarf is woven with Heritage. Imported directly from Osaka, Japan, this vintage Japanese silk has been chosen for its extremely high quality and its bold, authentic design. Handcrafted in a single limited batch, each piece is a pice of art, coming with it’s own edition number.
Soft and lively, this Japanese Silk Scarf combines a vivid hand-dyed indigo blue with patterns of hand-painted pine needles, created using a centuries old technique known as ‘Tegaki-Yuzen’. First implemented by Miyazaki Yuzen Sai during Japan’s Edo Period, the Tegaki-Yuzen method is achieved by hand-painting intricate patterns using a special dye-resistant paste to create a multi-step dye process that is still very popular today.
