The vast and diverse coastline habitats of the Península Valdés stretch along 400 km of rock, marsh, pebble, dune, flats and lagoons. Located near the southern tip of Argentina, the Valdés is where the speckled neutrals of land and animal meet the deep colors of the Atlantic.
Most importantly, the Valdés holds global significance in the the conservation and growth of many endangered marine mammals and birds, each claiming a particular terrain to nest in. Some of the most well observed species include the Magellanic Penguin, whom has been observed to have over 5 colonies with over 40,000 active nests, as well as breeding orcas and the endangered Southern Right Whale.
