Japanese Silk Chambray Necktie
This variant is currently sold out
This tie is made with Heritage.
Months of research and scouting led to this vintage Japanese silk, chosen for its extremely high quality and its bold, authentic design. Handcrafted in a single limited batch, each necktie is it’s own work of art and comes with it’s own edition number.
The weave of silk used in this tie is called Tsumugi.
Tsumugi is an ancient textile, traditionally used to make kimonos. Bundles of silk threads, taken from empty or deformed silk cocoons, are hand-dyed and set on a tension loom before carefully hand-woven to create textile is is both crisp and soft.
Today, Silk Tsumugi ( 結城紬 ) can still be seen woven in towns along the Kinu River, not of Tokyo. The Process has been inscribed in the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity
