Yakushima is represented as a UNESCO world Heritage site for it’s primeval temperate rain forests located at the southern tip of Kyushu, Japan. The landscape is dominated by mountains over 2,000 meters high and houses over 1,900 species and subspecies of flora, 16 mammal species and over 150 bird species. Yakushima is one of the only paces on this earth that houses ancient Japanese cedars,or Yakusugi, which are over 1,000 years old.
